Biography

As a Principal Scientist at the Merck Healthcare Satellite Lab since 2014, I manage the molecular interactions platform, where I lead the evaluation of molecular interactions between small molecules or antibodies with selected drug targets using cutting-edge biophysical tools. My expertise includes the use of Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR) and Differential Scanning Fluorimetry (DSF) to characterize these interactions.

In my role, I oversee a team dedicated to the investigation of molecular interactions, providing strategic direction and technical guidance. I am also responsible for mentoring and supervising MSc and PhD students, ensuring the successful progression of their research projects within the Molecular Biophysics lab.

I hold a PhD in Biochemistry from the Instituto de Tecnologia Química e Biológica (ITQB), Universidade Nova de Lisboa. Over the course of my career, I have published 17 peer-reviewed articles, including the development contributing to the advancement of knowledge in drug-target interactions and molecular biophysics.
