iNOVA4Health Seminar by Ana Teixeira
Engineering Human Cells with Synthetic Regulatory Networks
On February 21st, iBET welcomed Ana Teixeira for the iNOVA4Health Seminar “Synthetic Genetic Circuits for Regulation of next-generation Cell-based Therapeutics”.
Ana Teixeira (Senior Scientist at ETH Zurich and former principal scientist at ITQB NOVA and iBET) focuses her research on engineering human cells with synthetic regulatory networks designed to respond to target input signals, aiming at developing more potent and safer cell-based therapeutics for chronic diseases.
In her seminar, Ana presented several case studies demonstrating applications of gene and proteins switches for regulating cellular therapeutic functions, either in response to disease biomarkers, or through remote control using clinically compatible external molecular or physical signals.
Big thanks to Ana for her captivating talk, it was a pleasure to welcome her back at iBET.
