iBET research study on the protective effects of hydroxytyrosol in arthritis was highlighted in the first edition of Vale (Público), a magazine dedicated to innovation and sustainability in Oeiras , promoted by Oeiras Municipality.

With the title “The best of olive oil - in a capsule that slows arthritis“, the article features the promising bioactive properties of olive oil relevant for human health and well-being and highlights iBET findings on the effect of hydroxytyrosol, a phenolic compound derived from olive oil, in reducing paw edema in both moderate and severe models of arthritis.

This research is part of the project funded by Amélia de Mello Foundation, Sovena Consumer Goods and Medinfar focused on the evaluation of protective effect of hydroxytyrosol in arthritis.
