Data Analytics Center (DAC)
Bridging data management, data science and advanced analytics to leverage knowledge, value creation and support digital transformation at iBET.
Digital transformation at iBET
At iBET, we recognize the importance of well-managed data and how it propels our research forward.
Aiming to prepare iBET for a new paradigm where knowledge generation is empowered by artificial intelligence, we established the Data Analytics Centre (DAC) in 2022.
The DAC serves as the central hub for data related activities within iBET. This dedicated unit focuses on three core areas of activity: improve Data Management practices, harness Data Science in R&D activities and Optimize Internal Processes.
The DAC also collaborates closely with the Security, Quality & Compliance, and IT teams to ensure a secure and reliable data environment.
Data Management
We define and implement global data management strategies and practices that prioritize data quality. This includes:
- Increase Data Literacy – empowering researchers with the skills and knowledge to effectively manage and utilize data.
- Streamline Data Flow – establishing procedures and policies to ensure a smooth and consistent flow of data throughout its life cycle.
- Robust Data Infrastructure – investing in secure storage, backup, archiving and data integrity solutions.

Biosystems and Data Science
The Biosystems & Data Science (BDS) team acts as the research arm of DAC, empowering iBET activities and knowledge creation in various R&D areas.
We deploy advanced data analytics, including machine learning and mechanistic models, in scientific research to elucidate complex biological systems, strengthening iBET’s capabilities in precision medicine, drug discovery, and bioprocessing of cell and gene therapy products.
We also aim to develop and integrate Data Science talent and literacy at iBET.

Business Intelligence
We empower informed decision-making by gathering and delivering business data and insights to key stakeholders at iBET, including the Board, lab heads, and other support units. Most recently, business intelligence (BI) efforts have focused on:
- Centralized Data Warehouse – creating a secure and controlled data warehouse to centralize and optimize data storage and retrieval, ensuring data security, confidentiality, and compliance with GDPR regulations.
- Enhance Data Integration – restructured business information systems to improve data integration from diverse sources.
- Improve reporting – generating valuable and insightful reports tailored to the specific needs of different stakeholders, enabling informed decision-making.
