iBET Marks International Women’s Day with Breast Cancer Awareness Session

Practical insights from experts on identifying risk factors and promoting breast health.

To mark International Women’s Day, iBET hosted an informative session dedicated to breast cancer awareness.

Breast cancer affects approximately 1 in 20 women during their lifetime and remains one of the most common cancers worldwide. In Portugal, around 9,000 new cases are diagnosed each year.

The session was led by specialized oncology nurses Joana Araújo and Isabel Aragoa from CUF Health Group, who shared practical guidance on breast cancer risk factors, early warning signs, and preventive care.

Participants also received hands-on guidance on how to correctly perform breast self-examinations and recognize potential symptoms.
