Celebrating 20 Years of iBET-Merck Scientific Collaboration
In 2026, iBET proudly celebrates 20 years of impactful science and partnership with Merck Healthcare KGaA. To mark this milestone, Tiago Bandeiras, Head of the Merck Satellite Lab at iBET, was invited to speak at this year’s Merck Portugal Kick-off event (January 8).
During a session dedicated to science and to Merck’s commitment to advancing research and healthcare innovation, Tiago highlighted the work developed at the Merck Satellite Lab.
In his presentation, “Sparking Discovery in Portugal”, he explored key scientific achievements and milestones, and how his team operates a seamless integration of structural studies, biochemical assays and molecular interaction approaches to support preclinical Drug Discovery programs at Merck Healthcare KGaA.
Launched in 2009, iBET’s Satellite Laboratories stand as a unique innovation model, with fully dedicated lab spaces and teams, exclusively focused on accelerating the R&D pipeline of each international pharma company.
