Breve Descrição do Projeto | Brief Project Description | INTERFACE Mission Program – Reinforcing iBET’s Innovation and Knowledge

Launched in 2023, the INTERFACE Mission Program supports Portugal’s scientific institutions at the intersection of academia and industry, aiming to boost innovation and knowledge export. Over its three-year duration (2023–2025), iBET is leveraging this program to strengthen its leadership in Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products (ATMPs), with a focus on Gene and Cell Therapy.

iBET was awarded over €3.5 million in funding from Agência Nacional de Inovação (ANI) through the INTERFACE Program and the Plano de Recuperação e Resiliência (PRR).

To achieve this, iBET has invested in talent acquisition and internal skill development, guided by a five-pillar action plan:

  1. R&D in gene and cell therapy;
  2. Development of production and quality control platforms;
  3. Creation of a Translational Immunology Lab;
  4. Expansion of Data Science capabilities;
  5. Technical and financial coordination

iBET aims to recruit highly qualified professionals and enhanced training to boost bioproduction and bioanalytical capacity. Equipment acquired under the program is actively supporting R&D efforts.

These initiatives align with the program’s scientific goals and reinforce iBET’s technological capabilities, enabling industrial partners to improve productivity and flexibility.
