Aligned with the objectives of Component 5 – “Business Capitalization and Innovation”, this funding is promoted the “Plano de Recuperação e Resiliência (Recovery and Resilience Plan, PRR) under the investment “RE-C05-i13 – Scientific Research Units”.
This investment aims to modernize and restructure scientific research units, including their digital transformation. It is intended to support elements such as major scientific equipment, sets of scientific instruments, scientific archives and data, other knowledge-based resources, IT and software systems, communication networks that promote open digital access, and/or other essential infrastructures to foster excellence in research and innovation activities.
The EQUIPAR+2 PRR (https://doi.org/10.54499/UID/PRR2/04462/2025) aims to support the acquisition of equipment or the completion of renovation and/or modernization projects for scientific research units of the iNOVA4Health R&D Unit – Translational Medicine Program (NMS, iBET, IPOLFG, ITQB and NIMSB), within the framework of Call No. 02/C05-i13/2025 – EQUIPAR+2.
The main objectives are to:
- Strengthen the institutional foundation of the national scientific and technological system within R&D units;
- Support shared core resources and initiatives that enhance the capacity of R&D units to achieve their objectives;
- Complement existing funding to reinforce general activities and internationalization, while promoting efficient resource use and career development;
- Contribute to additional operational costs related to the exploitation of successfully completed projects and results.
