Sanofi Satellite Lab
Advancing process understanding capabilities in biopharmaceuticals development platforms.

Research Focus
A long track record of collaboration between iBET and Sanofi was consolidated in 2018 with the creation of the Sanofi Satellite Laboratory at iBET.
This joint endeavor has strengthened collaborative projects focused on bioprocess understanding and intensification to excel in biopharmaceutical development and manufacturing.
The main goal of the Sanofi team at iBET is to streamline and accelerate Sanofi’s R&D pipeline while reinforcing competencies and know-how in bioprocess development and bioanalytical tools. The cornerstone of our work is to create knowledge and develop competences within iBET that will bring value to our partner’s R&D platforms.
The Sanofi Satellite Lab team works collaboratively with other iBET teams to establish new methods and bioanalytical tools key for the characterization of bioprocesses and complex products.
Part of the work developed with Sanofi has resulted in several joint scientific publications (Escandell JM et al 2022; Carvalho SB et al 2022; Sebastião MJ et al 2023; Carvalho SB et al 2024) and dissemination actions in national and international conferences, illustrating the scientific relevance of the work being conducted and further strengthening the iBET-Sanofi partnership.
